When providing service, during normal business hours, the professional should be available to the client to discuss any matters relevent to provision of services. If the professional is not immediately available, they should return calls as soon as possible.
When determining reasonable business hours, the professional should consider that their business day may be complete at 5 PM, however the client may not arrive home until 7 PM and have concerns to discuss.
During short term pet sitting arrangements, immediate to early contact should be made in the event of an unusual occurance or emergency. In long term walking or visiting arrangements, contact should be made at regular intervals to provide the client with updated information, even if there are no changes. For example, leaving a note once a week, or a phone call at the end of the week letting them know how it's going will provide reassurance and indicate quality service.
