Formed in 2007, the Practice Committee is designed
to streamline the process of complaints and concerns about the practice
of ACPSN members.
All concerns received about pet care professionals
is referred to the Practice Committee for recommendations to resolve
issues.
The Practice Committee reviews all concerns about member
and non-member companies. Members who are found to be in violation
of the All Canadian Pet Services Network Professional Standards or
policies will be advised of the decision of the Practice Committee,
which may include:
Education
about professional standards and policies

Mentorship by a committee member or another ACPSN member in their
area
-
Mandatory continuing education
-
Recommendations for policy revisions
-
Mandatory participation in the Smiling Pets Client Satisfaction
Survey program
-
Probation
-
Suspension
Committee members will submit their recommendations only for members
who do not practice within their service areas. Decisions of the
Committee are final, subject to appeal.
Decisions made by the Committee will not be publicized. Complainants
will receive notification of the investigation, and may be advised
to submit further reports or status updates to ACPSN, but will not
be advised of the outcome of the investigation, or of any restrictions
placed on the member.
Complaints received regarding non-members will also be submitted
to the Practice Committee. Though no formal investigation will be
made regarding non-member companies, information received will be
helf for consideration in the event that a non-member applies for
membership. Membership with the All Canadian Pet Services Network
will be pending approval until review by the practice committee,
and the company will be advised of any decision to deny membership.
The Practice Committee will make no recommendations or decisions
regarding members who are suspended for non-payment of membership
fees or failure to maintain current contact information. Suspension
decisions for lapsed membership renewal fees or for invalid contact
information are made solely by ACPSN and are effective only until
the core issues are resolved.

As a respected and established professional with over 600
fur kid clients, Kristin offers a wealth of information to
ACPSN Members in the British Columbia region. As the director
of the Action for Animals in Distress Society, which is dedicated
and committed to the needs of homeless, abandoned, neglected,
sick and injured animals, Kristin exemplifies the advocacy

Karin Howland is the owner/operator of Pets Stay Home – Pet
Sitting Plus in Winnipeg, Manitoba. As the first Canadian
member of Pet Sitters International to complete their Accredited
Pet Sitting Technician program, Ulla’s commitment to
professional development is astounding. Ulla holds membership
the International Association of Animal Behaviour Consultants,
Canadian Association of Professional Pet Dog Trainers (CAPPDT),
Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) and many other pet
care professional associations, and her ongoing support of
the All Canadian Pet Services Network has been astounding.

Sharon
Steinman is the owner/operator of Fuga’s Furriends,
providing cat sitting services in Toronto and the north GTA
area. Sharon has been with the All Canadian Pet Services
Network since its inception in 2004, and has been a strong
resource in the development of programs and services for
members. As the first member of ACPSN to progress through
the Seal of A’Paw’val program, Sharon’s
dedication and commitment to professional development is
admirable. Sharon’s work with the Annex Cat Rescue,
on the board of directors and as the foster coordinator,
in Toronto demonstrates her strong devotion to animal advocacy.
The excellence she has achieved in her business will make
her a valuable resource to our members in the Greater Toronto
